July 27, 2011

Retired Master Sergeant James T. McClelland served our country in the United States Army for 22 years. He served in the 2nd Ranger Battalion, the 75th Ranger Battalion, and was in the 5th Training Brigade as a Ranger instructor for 5 years. After retirement, he became an instructor for the ROTC program at the University of North Alabama in Florence, then for the JROTC program at Florence High School for 6 years. He is a member of the Killen Volunteer Fire Department and was a part of the 1st responding group to Phil Campbell after the April 27th tornadoes. That group went from county to county helping families, bringing supplies, and clearing debris. (R)MSG McClelland has not stopped serving his country since day one of his time in the U.S. Army. While I was in his JROTC class, he taught me values and skills that I will never forget. He does so much for us and I want to do this one thing for him. In my eyes, he deserves it and I thank him for everything he has done for me, his family and our country.
