Richard Wittwer is the Operations Manager for Tex-American. He was stationed at Tinker, AFB (TAFB) and assigned to the 72nd Communications Squadron on the day of the Oklahoma City bombing. He bravely worked the bomb site during the search and rescue operations on a gurney crew along with a Staff Sergeant and two law enforcement officers. The following two days Richard served as an escort notifying victims families at the First Christian Church. His remaining time was spent at TAFB coordinating resources needed at the Murrah building, supplying materials and manpower needed, and assisting the search teams. His final contribution to this harrowing time was to assist in the coordination efforts for the proposed designed for the OKC Memorial, arranging travel and groups to act as liaisons for public viewings of the designs.
