About

The National 9/11 Flag is a powerful symbol of the American Spirit. Destroyed in the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and stitched back together seven years later by tornado survivors in Greensburg, Kansas, The National 9/11 Flag demonstrates what is possible when Americans unite to face historic national challenges by working together. The National 9/11 Flag is a visual testament to our Nation’s resilience, our compassion, and our love for our fellow neighbors, both near and far. But greatest of all, The National 9/11 Flag is a living legacy to the extraordinary sense of Kindness that united our Nation on 9/12.

Currently on a journey across America through the 10th Year Anniversary of 9/11, The New York Says Thank You Foundation believes strongly that every American should have the opportunity to experience The National 9/11 Flag and witness its patchwork beauty which symbolizes the transformation of tragedy into triumph.

The goal of The National 9/11 Flag Tour is to display this historic flag at leading venues nationwide, to empower local service heroes with the privilege of stitching the flag back to its original 13-stripe format, and to inspire 300 million Americans with the flag’s rich visual history in order to deepen our sense of citizenship and national pride and bolster the spirit of volunteerism on the 9/11 Anniversary and year-round.

Thank you for supporting the nationwide display of The National 9/11 Flag and the historic grassroots restoration effort for this unique and inspiring National Treasure.
