Arlene Mathews, is a  women dedicated to  the volunteer program at St. Peter’s hospital in Helena, Montana for the past 50 years after serving as a OB nurse for 35 years.  She started the Christmas Stocking for new babies to be sent home in during the month December, and also goes out with her family on Christmas Eve night to make sure that all patients wake up to a Christmas Stocking on their beds. Her church circle has made quilts for homeless, The Red Cross, for people who have lost their homes do to fire, group homes, and also to the YWCA.  Arlene, is always available 24/7 whenever there is a need or crisis. She has held many state offices and local, but the most outstanding is Past State President of P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Sisterhood helping women continue with their education. A wonderful mentor to many along the way, but a dear second mom to me!
