Mark Haegele, Bismarck

MARK HAEGELE
(Nominated by Rhonda Haegele)
State Capitol Building in Bismarck
August 12, 2011

Mark Haegele was deployed to Afghanistan with the 2nd CEB (Combat Engineer Battalion) and was attached to the Eagle 4 snipers. He was clearing the way and stepped on an IED in April of 2011 and both legs were amputated and his arms severely injured. He is currently at Walter Reed for rehabilitation and has been an inspiration for so many with his positive attitude and determination to meet his platoon on legs when they come back in October. He is a true hero to our proud state of North Dakota! (Pictured: Rhonda Haegele for Mark Haegele)
