ALGIE DAVIS
(Nominated by Jim Swartz)
The Lauderdale AG Center
May 23, 2011

Algie Davis is the most patriot person in Lauderdale County Mississippi. When he was a high school principal, he started a yearly program for veterans at his school to get the students involved with veterans. He put on a program and a lunch for the kids to eat with the veterans. He also had a wall of honor placed in the school so that students could bring family pictures of veterans to place on the wall. This program has been started in other county and city schools. Now he has started taping interviews with veterans and then placing these dvds in school libraries so that teachers and students can view them. He attends all veterans activities in this area. Algie Davis never served in the military but supports it 100% and will do anything to help a veteran. For many years he drove a WWII veteran in his golf cart so that the veteran could be in the Veterans Day activities. Algie is a hero to the veterans of Lauderdale County Mississippi.
