Hawaii Stories

Karl Steininger, Honolulu

KARL STEININGER
(Nominated by Joseph Lane)
On Deck of The Battleship U.S.S. Missouri (BB63)
Pearl Harbor

December 7, 2010

I worked with Karl several years ago when we were both assigned to the 104th Police Pct in Ridgewood, Queens, NY.  Karl was always a conscientious dedicated police officer who valued his close partnership with the many citizens of the area he policed. On numerous occasions I observed Karl go above and beyond the call of duty to assist various individuals with their many issues. Karl Steininger retired from the NYPD in February of 2004 and just two months later he was sworn in as a Honolulu PD Officer. To this day, Karl continues to service the citizens of the great state of Hawaii. Please consider Karl Steininger to be nominated to have the honor of stitching The National 9/11 flag while the flag is present in Hawaii during the 2010 Pearl Harbor remembrance memorial service. I feel Karl is well deserving of this great honor for his many years of dedicated service to the American people.
