Richard Russell, Fond du Lac

RICHARD RUSSELL
(Nominated by Mike Clemens)
Marian University Campus
October 23, 2010

SSG Richard Russell was immediately deployed to Fort McCoy, WI after September 11, 2001.  He served a year there during Operation Enduring Freedom.  He then volunteered to go to Iraq as an MP for 15 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Upon his return home, he fell on hard times, losing his job, home, and marriage.  He then volunteered to serve another tour in Iraq.  He served as an investigator as part of the Abu Ghraib Investigations.  After three tours, he came home to a world where he no longer felt a part.  He is now back in college and working. I would like for him to be a part of the ceremony in Fond du Lac, WI, his former home town, on October 23, 2010.
