John Q. Adams, Ellijay

(Nominated by Julie Kepley & Bobbi Leigh Mullins)
Gilmore High School
July 30, 2011

John Adams was injured in the line of duty in August 2003 while serving in the U.S. Army overseas.  He was not expected to live, and yet continues to move forward every day.  Since moving to Ellijay, John, as well as his wife and two sons, have become a contributing member to their church, the local school system and the Boy Scout and Cub Scout programs here in Ellijay.  He is always willing to give of his time, talents and resources.  He has paid a great price for our country and yet continues to help anyone and everyone who needs it.  He is the epitome of what an American hero is!
