Mark Hyde is my wife’s brother and an educator here in Gilmer County. Mark battled Crone’s Disease for about 20 yrs and in November 2010 he was found to have stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. During his Chemotherapy treatment he continued teaching his class only taking time off while he traveled to Tulsa for his treatments. When his recent CT Scan came back clear, Mark found the strength to drive to Joplin, MO & volunteered to help in the clean-up efforts following the devastating tornado. On June 10 Mark got a clean bill-of-health and is an inspiration to everybody around him with his positive attitude and will to live.
