WILMA PHILLIPS ALLEN
(Nominated by Jim Swartz)
The Lauderdale AG Center
May 23, 2011

Wilma lost her son in Iraq in 2005. He was a medic and was helping other soldiers when he was killed. She is now a gold star mother, and she helps with other gold star mothers in the state and attends all funerals of fallen heroes in the state. She also attends all send-offs and welcome-homes of all National Guard units in the state and arranges for the Patriot Guard for other funerals and events in the state. She is a member of the Run For The Wall committee and will help veterans with anything she can. Wilma is a great person who deserves to be honored to stitch on the National 9/11 Flag. She is my hero.
