Jennifer Mullins, Frankfort

JENNIFER MULLINS
(Nominated by Tim Martinez)
THE CAPITOL BUILDING
May 6, 2011

Jennifer is the current 1st Vice Commander of the Ladies Auxiliary Unit 7 from Frankfort, KY.  She is responsible for ensuring that meetings, functions, and activities are conducted accordingly and is a source of contact from local agencies and veteran’s organizations.  She has received the necessary training involved to go out into the community and help our public service agencies such as the Frankfort Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security.  She has graduating from the CERT training conducted in Frankfort and has been part of the only Auxiliary Unit nationwide to have members complete this training in the past two years.  She and other members have been activated twice, once last year during the floods and again this year just last week when the Humane Society flooded and they had to jump into action to save the animals at the shelter.  She also accounts for hundreds of volunteer hours while serving our veterans in medical centers, respite program, retirement homes and other countless functions and activities associated with veterans and our community.  She is a true certified hero and I take great pleasure in nominating her to stitch on the National 9/11 Flag
