Andrew Arnold Jr., Frederick

ANDREW ARNOLD JR.
(Nominated by Ed Arnold)
Frederick Community College Field House
June 18, 2011

Andrew has been a Volunteer firefighter for over 20 years, current rank of Deputy Chief. Also he was a career Captain at Cardorock Naval Base in Cabin John, Maryland at the time the plane struck the Pentagon. His crew was one of the first crews making entry into the heavily damaged area, securing the area for the Military. Andy has been decorated with several metals for bravery and just this past week was honored for a life-saving award by Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and Department of Fire & Rescue Services for assisting performing CPR on an elderly man found in a van in cardiac arrest. His crew not only revived the patient, he was actually talking to the crew before transport to the Hospital. Also, just this year he has made 2 rescues in house fires in Brunswick where he lives that resulted in both victims surviving, one being a Police Officer who was trying to make a rescue but was overcome himself. For his dedication and heroics Andrew certainly deserves this honor.
