Sergeant Dale S. Steinecke, an Iraq war Veteran originally from Davenport, Iowa is currently stationed with Marine Air Control Squadron 23 aboard Buckley AFB in Aurora. Sergeant Steinecke, a Heavy Equipment Mechanic by trade, is the Squadron Color Guard Sergeant and Funeral Honors coordinator. He personally handles the coordination of every Color Guard that is conducted in the Denver Metro area. He has coordinated every one of the more that 500 Marine funeral honors missions that the squadron has conducted since being at his unit for both Veterans and Active Duty personnel killed in Action. This covers an area of over 280,000 square miles including Colorado, Wyoming, Eastern Kansas, Eastern Nebraska and parts of South Dakota. He has also been recognized as the Active Duty Marine of the Year by Senator Mark Udall and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce. Sergeant Steinecke is married, has two daughters and is an Aurora, Co homeowner.
