Wisconsin Patches

This is the fourth patch made for the National 9/11 Flag restoration project.  The National 9/11 Flag traveled to Marian University Campus in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin  on October 23, 2010.  The Flag was proudly displayed for the inauguration of Dr. Steven DiSalvo as the 14th President of the University.  After the inauguration, the Flag was brought to Dorcas Chapel located on the campus where 153 people stitched the Wisconsin patch into the National 9/11 Flag. The Wisconsin patch was made from three donated flags–one that flew over the University sports complex, another one from the Bay-Lakes Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the third flag was donated by the Haberman family, who lost their daughter in the Towers on 9/11.

The Wisconsin patch was made by cutting out several red strips from all three retired flags and is 14 inches high by 35 inches wide.  It was sewn into the lower bottom red stripe replacing material from that stripe lost on 9/11. (Location R1-2 on the map).

The remains of the three flags used in making the patch were returned to the Haberman family, the Boy Scouts and the University for proper disposal.
