Edward Wenzel, Fond du Lac

Officer Ed Wenzel has been with the Fond du Lac, WI Police Department since 1996 as a police officer.  At the same time, officer Wenzel has served in the Wisconsin National Guard. He began his military service in 1986 after high school, joined the U.S. Army and was selected for Army Airborne.  Ed served in Panama for two years before leaving the Army in 1990. He then joined the Wisconsin National Guard in 1995 as a Military Police Officer and saw deployments in the Dominican Republic for hurricane relief efforts, served in support of Noble Eagle in Bosnia in 2002,  in Iraq for one and half years and returned to Iraq in 2009 for a one year second tour.  Ed is currently a Sergeant First Class and is planning on retiring from Military service on December 31, 2010. During his Military service, Sgt. Wenzel received the Army Commendation Medal with “V” Device for Valor for actions in Iraq. Officer Edward J. Wenzel lives in Fond du Lac with his wife Shannon and their three children. He is a decent and caring individual who is an advocate for veterans and the people he serves.  To us, to know Ed is to know the US military and the pride and dedication of those who serve.
